I don't even know if unwise is a word... but that is what I was today. I went walkjogging today.Walkjog is what someone who is not physically fit enough to just jog. You jog a little you walk a little. Well, today I decided to go on my walk at 1:00 in the afternoon. I took Daisy with me as usual. I didn't drink any water before I left and I didn't take any with me because I already had a leash in one hand I didn't want to carry two things. Well, I started off pretty good. I stretched and I was power walking you know how you walk when you're in a store on black friday and you see what you want but there's only one left on the shelf? Yeah that was my pace. Then I'd jog then I'd go back to my shopping pace. Well, about 1/4 of the way into my 2 mile walk I realized how hot the sun felt, but I just tried to shake it off and listen harder to my Harry Potter audio book. Then I started noticing how dry my mouth was. I started to freak out a little halfway through my walk with a mile to go before I got home (I walk in a triangle). By this time I started thinking of whatever I could do to get water or out of the sun seeing as 7/8 of my walk is shadeless. I cut the corner at the top point of my triangular route. By this point there is a small gas station in view. I started thinking of ways I could convince the owner to give me a bottle of water and pay him later finally I had decided I would leave Daisy with him while I drank my water and went home to get my wallet (my house is behind this store about a 3 minute walk). By the time I reached the trees near the gas station I was desperate. I put my hair into a tighter bun and rubbed my swollen hands. My face was boiling. I stood there for a minute or so just happy to be in the shade. I set off again and by the time I reached the gas station I convinced myself to just go home. The gas station has a lot of shady characters and I was a girl all alone in a cami and some soffee shorts... not a brilliant idea to go waltzing in a shady place soaked with sweat.. I walked past the gas station and decided to cut through the yard in front of mine to get home a little quicker this route is semi in the woods, but for some reason there was NO SHADE! I just knew I wasn't going to make it and my body would be found in the woods hours later and someone would suggest foul play. Luckily.. I did make it home. Daisy went immediately to her bowl and let her tongue just rest in the water and I layed on the floor... not a good idea at all! All of the blood in my body rushed to my already swollen and burning face making it scorching hot. I sat up and went to the bathroom so I could sit in my cold bath tub. This would have worked if Daisy hadn't jumped into my clean bath water when it was halfway full. I couldn't even make her get out. So I emptied the tub pulled the shower head down to the bottom and sat in the tub with cold water coming out of the shower head it was heaven... I couldn't stand up for fear of passing out.. finally I cooled off and was a bit more stable. All of this to say... don't go walking in the middle of summer at the hottest time of the day with no shade and no water... it is for lack of a better work... IDIOTIC! :)
Yeah I told you my face was red and that is not sunburn that's from laying down. Poor Daisy in the background.
